11u Wins the Five Tool Nations Strongsville Memorial Day Classic Championship

11u Impact BC Ohio took home the championship in the Strongsville Memorial Day Classic Five Tool/Nations Qualifier Tournament. 16 strong teams competed in the 11u division.

Impact blew past the competition in pool play, winning 16-3 and 16-6, earning the #3 seed in the 4-team Monday Championship Bracket.

The semifinals brought a tough T3 Warhawks Rhodes team to the field in a matchup of Ohio Prospects League stalwarts. After allowing 3 runs in the 1st innings, Impact did not allow another run across 8 innings to win 4-3 in a 9-inning nail-biter. Keniel Laguer crushed an opposite field triple to right to lead off the top of the 9th and Carter Dzurinda drove him in with a single for the game-winning run. Laguer also shut down the opposition for 4 innings, allowing zero hits and striking out 6 to earn the win. Bryce Messick closed it out to earn the save allowing 1 base-runner and striking out 2 in the bottom of the 9th.

The championship game versus a tough Pittsburgh Diamond Dawgs Gold team saw the good guys go down early again, 4-0 after one inning. Impact then outscored Pittsburgh 16-5 the rest of the way to win it, mashing 18 hits in the process. It was the bottom of the lineup who sparked Impact throughout the game led by Mason Mitschke with 4 hits and Jack Kramp with 3 hits. Laguer, Dzurinda, Peyton Kocmit, Gino Biffi, and Zach Sharton each added two hits to the total. Biffi did enough on the mound to settle things down over 3.1 innings pitched to get the W.
